Mile High Summer Camp
In its over 40 years of existence, Mile High Summer Camp Programs have provided an opportunity to reach the youth in the bleeding disorder community. Mile High Summer Camp is a camp hosted by The Colorado Chapter of the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation and The University of Colorado Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center. Mile High Summer Camp serves campers affected with hemophilia, von Willebrand’s disease, and other rare chronic bleeding disorders from Colorado, Wyoming and Montana - empowering youth with bleeding disorders on their journey to independence, through a combination of self-infusion training, medical education, social support and therapeutic recreation. We combine the traditional components of the summer camp model with a fully integrated medical team to ensure that campers are safe throughout the duration of the experience, and that we have detailed records on bleeding disorder treatment plans to govern any unforeseen medical situations.
