After the success of last year’s Walk, HSC is continuing its efforts to bring the community together on the Western Slope and Denver to have fun and raise funds for HSC. We need at least five volunteers to work with the chapter leadership (board and staff) on managing logistics and help this continue to be a great event; volunteers from both the Western Slope and the Denver Metro area are needed. Our goal is to raise $35,000. Volunteers will have an opportunity to use their skills and knowledge to support the chapter while also learning new strategies related to fundraising and organizational development.
Event date & location:
- Denver – August 13 at Sloan’s Lake
- Grand Junction – September 23rd at Canyon View Park
Time commitment:
- Up to one meeting per month in-person in downtown Denver at The Alliance Center or via conference call.
- Up to five hours per week
- Participation in set up of event, support during the event, and clean up of the event.
Committee needs:
- Work closely with the HSC executive director on management of the Walks
- Identify and solicit sponsors and donors – financial and in-kind
- Organize logistics such as ordering t-shirts, setting up for race day, etc.
- Recruit and support volunteers for the event
- Encourage participation and fundraising from community
- Ability to meet in person as well as communicate virtually through email.
- Help with acknowledgments and follow up activities following the event
- Additional responsibilities and needs as they arise
