Social Networking

Social media is an important part of the world in which we live.  HSC is using social media where it can to share resources as well as listen and learn.  Social media is an easily-accessible and affordable way to communicate.  We know that not everyone is using social media or might want to learn, so we have included some information here about different social media tools.  You can always contact HSC if you have questions or concerns: hsc@cohemo.org.

HSC Has a Facebook Page and Facebook Cause!

Our Facebook Page is a great way for HSC and our community to share resou rces, have conversations, and give/get feedback about what we are doing.  Go to our Facebook Page and become a fan today.

The HSC Facebook Cause is an excellent way for HSC to raise funds using the power of our social networks online.  You can set goals, recruit your friends, and create a chain reaction that positively affects our chapter.  Join us on the Facebook Cause, make a donation to a program, and then tell others about it.  Help us make an impact today!

What is Facebook anyway?

From Wikipedia: Facebook is a social networking website launched on February 4, 2004. The free-access website is privately owned and operated by Facebook, Inc. Users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people. People can also add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profile to notify friends about themselves.

HSC is on Twitter too!

That’s right, we tweet and are part of national and international conversation about bleeding disorders.  Tweeting gives an easy and quick way to share great information.  Follow us on Twitter (@cohemo) to learn more and join us in the dialogue.

What is Twitter?

From Wikipedia: Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

And then there’s the blog: Our Community Blog

HSC blogs at least on a weekly basis.  You can receive bog posts via email or watch for them on Facebook and Twitter. It’s important to us that members know and have access to what is happening at HSC as well as resources for themselves and their families. The blog is great way to help this happen without having to update the entire website.  Think of it as live updates from HSC.  Be sure to give your feedback on posts through the blog!
