  2. Follow up interviews with final applicants will be conducted before the November board meeting.
  3. Final board candidates will be invited to attend the November board meeting where the board will review applications without the applicants present.  This will be an opportunity for prospective board members to learn how the NHF Colorado board operates and ask questions of the board.
  4. The board will notify all candidates by the last day of November about their application for board service.
  5. New board members will participate in an orientation process; meet up with their board buddies (a current board member who is partnered with a new board member for three months to help with orientation); and sign their letter of commitment prior to the January 2012  board meeting.

The NHF Colorado Board is looking for individuals with a variety of skills and areas of expertise related to nonprofit management, not only those affected directly or indirectly by bleeding disorders; this will help the organization thrive by having a diversity of perspectives, ages, ethnicity, and skill sets represented on the NHF Colorado leadership team.

NHF Colorado will provide in-service board training for new board members and encourages board members to seek additional education about nonprofit management and board governance outside the organization to help develop the knowledge and capacity of the organization as well as improve service to the community and adherence to the NHF Colorado mission.

Due to new chapter guidelines, industry professionals and their immediate family members will not be eligible for board service.  However, NHF Colorado has an Industry Advisory Committee available for interested individuals in the coming months.

Please read through the description and details before completing your application for board service.  Interested candidates can contact NHF Colorado with additional questions at info@cohemo.org or (720) 336-0156.
